This approach to initiatives as old as the English-speaking Caribbean is, in the first place, autobiographical. Starting with a personal perspective, my reflection extends to family members and after, as well, to lives near and far, in time and place.

You are different. Your experience is different from mine. It allows you to have a different perspective on the history of health. And because that difference can broaden, and deepen insight into this subject, you are welcome to contribute your view, or even


Reflection may begin, if you wish, in your childhood home, with what your parents did. It may extend from there to any effort you are aware of, to reduce pain or, in effect, assure health.
